Oye Lucky, Friday Lucky!

On Friday, 26th February we were at Dr. Shroff's Charity Eye Hospital at Daryaganj and met Mr. Vikram Lal who is on the Board. It was a delight to see the place spotlessly clean as hospitals ought to be. We were very impressed by the commitment and motivation of Anil Arora and Shantanu Dasgupta. They have assured us of free eye checkups as well as cataract surgeries for needy patients.

This is such good news for us as you know medical treatment is so expensive. We want to share this with our well wishers and with a larger audience committed to health care of the needy. As most of us know any help be it free checkups, supply of medicines, nutritional supplements, any other medical assistance and of course donations are what helps us in carrying our work forward to serve the needy.

New faces

Manna from Heaven.....santa has brought me the greatest gift...Vinay Venu from Kerala via U.S and Callie from U.S via Thailand....all set to help Ila Trust....all thanks to Greg in U.S and Daniel and Shuro in Delhi....what more could I ask for except to ask you to pray for Younus age 11yrs suffering from kidney failure...why do bad things happen to good people.Pray for him because I believe that while there is life ther is hope.I am attaching his photo to let you see how beautiful he is....love...love ....love Reeta

Hauz Qazi Chawk

This is Malek. He is a 65-year-old man, bent-double and still ferrying customers around on a cycle rickshaw around Old Delhi. He had chest congestion and joint ache, especially in his wrist, due to his profession. His monthly income couldn't be more than US $70.

Lal Kuan

Lal Kuan is in the heart of the famous Chandni Chowk.....this lane is littered with little shops selling kites to welding depots,small eateries for the rickshawpullers.The place is vibrant and we hardly ever notice how time flies.We have a number of women and children......all very needy but dignified in their approach.There is a great deal that we can learn from them.....bye for now as have to head to Sarai Khalil.Shuro and Daniel are doing a trial of our EMR system.

baratooti chowk

Baratooti Chowk......no one will believe the numbers....388 people....in the heart of Old Delhi ,most of them homeless ,daily wage labourers trying to survive....all of them may be in rags,but,with a smile on their face....this also brings a smile on ours.Maybe one day you might see it when you visit Baratooti......bye ...Reeta
